Robert Krasker, BSC had at least two residential addresses in Ealing before he moved to flat 1, Harrogate House, 29 Sloane Square – the first was the Krasker family apartment at flat 13, Tudor Close, Gunnersbury Avenue, Ealing, London W5 4HD and the second was his own place at 25 Castlebar Road, Ealing, London W5 2DL.

There may have been a third residential address in Ealing but I have yet to thoroughly examine the electoral rolls and other relevant documents.

Why is this important? I believe that Robert Krasker, BSC deserves to be commemorated with an English Heritage Blue Plaque and it is wise to list more than one address in the application as not every current owner wishes to accept one being permanently attached to their building.

Was 25 Castlebar Road the address where Krasker propped its front door open with the Oscar statuette he received from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Best Cinematography (Black-and-White) for The Third Man (1949) at the 1951 awards ceremony?

The Krasker family home in London was here at flat 13, Tudor Court, Ealing, London W5 4HD, England. Image courtesy of Apple Maps.
